We will start at the back parking lot at Freeman’s Way Fields in Brewster and make our way into Nickerson State Park. We will walk along multiple trails leading us to Grassy Nook Pond, Cliff Pond, and Ruth Pond. This walk will challenge us with several stretches of elevation as we complete the 4.5-mile trail. We will encounter beautiful, wooded trails, pine needles, shimmering ponds, and amazing views.  It’s a white pine wonderland!
Meet at 8:15 a.m. to sign in and stretch.  We’ll begin walking promptly at 8:30 a.m. Hosted by Rosemary DeVito with TBD Sweep.  Please read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic; plus the ability to walk on uneven terrain for the prescribed distance, pace and elevation
—Distance: 4.5 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Moderate
—Terrain: A combination of well-worn paths with pine needles, roots, rocks, and hills. Carbide tips required.
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. Wear blaze orange for visibility and safety during Spring turkey hunting season.
—Limit 1 walk per day.

—Restrooms – not available.  Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case a bio break is needed on the trail.
—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.
Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (including spam) AND this walk listing before driving to the walk. ** If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
Directions/Location: Meet at the back parking lot at Freeman’s Way Fields, 815 Freeman’s Way, Brewster. The entrance is well marked on Freeman’s Way.  Access Freeman’s Way via Route 137. (Do not use Route 39 – access to Freeman’s Way is closed due to the sewer project.)
