Tuck this one in early and have the rest of the day ahead! This hilly route takes in Ruth, Grassy Nook, and Cliff ponds, each with its own beauty and mood. About half the route is on pavement, perfect for picking up the pace to build stamina while maintaining Nordic technique. 

Meet at 7:15 am to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 7:30. Hosted by Sue Moynihan with Sweep TBD. Read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic, prior CCNW walks, and ability to walk 3 miles at a moderate and steady pace over hilly terrain
Distance: 3 miles. No shorter or turn-back option.
Pace: 22/23-minute miles. Moderate and steady throughout, with brief water stops.
Terrain: Combo of pavement (rubber tips needed) and hard pack path with roots, rocks, and several hills. There are a few steep downhill segments and cross-slope. Supportive footwear necessary.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. ** Display blaze orange for safety and visibility during spring turkey season.**

• Limit 1 walk per day
• Wear your CCNW ID badge.
• Porta-potty available. No water. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
• Rubber tips needed.
• Carry bug spray.

• If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Directions: Route 6A to Nickerson State Park in Brewster. Enter the park, proceed past the office, and travel 2.4 miles on the main park road. Turn left at the Fisherman’s Landing/Cliff Pond sign. We are NOT meeting at the Flax Pond Road side of Cliff Pond.
