Nickerson State Park offers so much beauty and has such interesting history! Did you know there are 2 small cemeteries and remnants of the Great Depression in the park? This  was the first walk I did as a host and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together! I always look forward look to doing it again!

***Meet at 10:15 AM for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 10:30 AM. Hosted by Leslie Kalinowski with Sweep Mike Kalinowski

***Prerequisite: Completed Instructional clinic. At least 1 beginner walk and ready to pick up the pace and move up to intermediate level or at least one intermediate walk. Ability to walk close to 3 miles miles at moderate pace over several hills.

***Distance: 2.8-3.0 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.

***Pace: moderate 22-25 minute miles. There are several hills that’ll get your heart rate going! 75% of our walk will be on a bike trail. We will possibly walk single file depending if there are bikers.

***Terrain: Mostly an asphalt bike trail. There is a shorter segment of woods with pine needles, a few exposed roots and rocks.

***For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. Poison Ivy is present on part of the trail.

***Limit 1 walk per day

***Wear your CCNW ID badge.

*** Rubber tips are required for the asphalt. You may choose to take them off for the wooded section of the walk.

*** There are no bathroom facilites. Bring tissue and a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

***If your plans change kindly cancel your booking 24 hrs in advance so other walkers may join.

***Please check your email and spam before leaving for a walk. A walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Registrants will receive a system generated email.

***Directions: Route 6A to Nickerson State Park.  Drive straight on Deer Park Road .5miles. There will be a large parking area on your right. This is the Amphitheater parking lot. We will start our walk here. Parking is FREE at this time.
