Did you know there are 2 small cemeteries and remnants of th e Great Depression in the park? This  was the first walk I did as a host and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together! I always look forward look t o doing it again!\n\n***Meet at 10:15 AM for sign-in and stretching to beg in walking promptly at 10:30 AM. Hosted by Leslie Kalinowski with Sweep Mi ke Kalinowski\n\n***Prerequisite: Completed Instructional clinic. At least 1 beginner walk and ready to pick up the pace and move up to intermediate level or at least one intermediate walk. Ability to walk close to 3 miles miles at moderate pace over several hills.\n\n***Distance: 2.8-3.0 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.\n\n***Pace: moderate 22-25 minute miles. There are several hills that’ll get your heart rate going! 75% of our wa lk will be on a bike trail. We will possibly walk single file depending if there are bikers.\n\n***Terrain: Mostly an asphalt bike trail. There is a shorter segment of woods with pine needles\, a few exposed roots and rock s.\n\n***For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your R SVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of pers onal and group safety\, if you arrive without water\, you will not be allo wed to walk. Dress for the weather and choose appropriate footwear for tra il conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks\, which are ac tive year-round. Poison Ivy is present on part of the trail.\n\n***Limit 1 walk per day\n\n***Wear your CCNW ID badge.\n\n*** Rubber tips are requir ed for the asphalt. You may choose to take them off for the wooded section of the walk.\n\n*** There are no bathroom facilites. Bring tissue and a p lastic bag in case of a bio break need.\n\n***If your plans change kindly cancel your booking 24 hrs in advance so other walkers may join.\n\n***Ple ase check your email and spam before leaving for a walk. A walk may be can celed\, changed\, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellatio n decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Registrants will rece ive a system generated email.\n\n***Directions: Route 6A to Nickerson Stat e Park.  Drive straight on Deer Park Road .5miles. There will be a large parking area on your right. This is the Amphitheater parking lot. We will start our walk here.
