For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.  Wear blaze orange as it is hunting season

Meet at 9:45 for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 10: 00. Hosted by Patty Creedon.

—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic
—Distance: 1.5-mile loop. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Slow to moderate, about 27 – 30 minutes per mile.
—Terrain: Hard-pack trail, roots, steps, some elevation gain

—Limit 1 walk per day

—Wear your CCNW ID badge.

—Restrooms are available. Always bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.

Many of our early walkers started out on this trail, and it remains a favorite for its scenic views and rich history. The route winds through the woods and along the edge of Nauset Marsh, revealing stories of glaciers, the First People, settlement culture, and early tourism, plus beautiful views of the Nauset Estuary and barrier beach.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions:  Meet in the parking lot at Salt Pond Visitor Center, 50 Nauset Road at the intersection with Route 6, Eastham.
