It’s a beautiful time of year at the High Head Conservation Area! In addition to wolf trees and high elevation views, bearberry, shadbush, and blueberry are decorating hillsides and woods with their delicate pink and white blooms. Optional post-walk visit to Day’s Deli for a drink, snack, or lunch (those in the know rave about their lobster rolls 😊).
Meet at 9:45 to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 10. Hosted by Sue Moynihan with Sweep TBD. Read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic and ability to meet the distance, pace, and terrain.
Distance: 2 miles.
Pace: 23/24-minute miles. Moderate & steady on the level, slower on the hills, with periodic view stops.
Terrain: Hard-packed trail with several short hills
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. **Display blaze orange for safety and visibility during turkey season.**
