Perched high above the Atlantic, the Truro Highlands Historic District features outstanding views and rich history associated with Highland (Cape Cod) Light, early tourism, and golfing in the Scottish links tradition. The Highland House Museum is hosting its annual free open house, this year showcasing a new America 250 exhibit, “Hard Choices on a Perilous Coast: Truro’s Story of the American Revolution.” We’ll have free time in the district to visit the museum, climb Highland Light if you wish ($8 adults, $7 seniors), shop in the lighthouse gift store, or just enjoy the view. All levels welcome if the distance, slow/moderate pace, and terrain suit you.
Meet at 9:15 to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 9:30. Hosted by Sue Moynihan with Sweep TBD. Read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
