Let’s explore some of the beautiful variety of Nickerson Park! We’ll start out by circumnavigating lovely Cliff Pond, then head into the woods for an up and downhill meander to the western shore of Higgins Pond.

Meet at 8:45 AM to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 9:00 AM. Hosted by Dorrie Scipione Ross with Sweep TBD. Please read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.

—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic and the ability to walk 4 miles at a steady pace over a variety of terrain
—Distance: 4.2 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Moderate and steady, slower on the hills
—Terrain: Sandy trail, hard pack trail, hills, roots, rocks, pinecones and pine needles, short stretches of pavement. Trail can be narrow and/or uneven at times.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Directions: Take Route 6A to the main entrance of Nickerson State Park in Brewster. Upon entering the park, go straight for approximately .3 miles, then turn left onto Flax Pond Road. Take Flax Pond Road all the way to the end – the parking lot is located between Cliff Pond and Little Cliff Pond.
