Spring turkey season starts on April 27th and runs for 3 weeks in the National Seashore and 4 weeks elsewhere in the state. Turkey hunting is allowed Mondays through Saturdays from 1/2-hour before sunrise to noon at many locations on the Cape, including places we walk.
Our Hosts and Sweeps display blaze orange for visibility and safety during spring turkey season, and we encourage our walkers to do the same. There are many inexpensive blaze orange options available locally and online, including hats, bandanas, backpacks, vests, and jackets.
