Fort Hill is a great walk for all walkers with varied terrain. Historic highlights include a restored whaling Captain’s house, Red Maple Swamp boardwalk and meandering paths along panoramic views across marshes to the ocean.

Meet at 9:15 am to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 9:30 am.  Hosted by Anne Dickson with Sweep TBD. Please read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic and 1-2 CCNW walks.
—Distance: 1.75 mi. Turn back at midpoint, if needed.
—Pace: slow to moderate based on terrain. Rest, water, and vista stops all along the way.
—Terrain: packed dirt/ grass trails, some roots, elongated stair area, few hills and a boardwalk.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

—Limit 1 walk per day.
—Wear your CCNW ID badge.
— Bring rubber tips. Note area has sun exposure, some poison ivy on side of wide paths.
—Restrooms are available. Also, bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (including spam) AND this walk listing before driving to the walk. ** If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

DIRECTIONS: 200 Hemenway Rd. off Rt. 6 in Eastham. DO NOT follow road sides or GPS to Fort Hill
Note: Limited parking along Hemenway Road. Please park completely off the road taking note of any ‘No Parking’ signs. The town parking lot at end of Hemenway Rd. is reserved for those who have Eastham beach stickers.
