Eagle Pond & Little River Sanctuary offers a view of a multitude of habitats including upland pine forest,  pond, river, cedar swamp, maple swamp, field, and views of the ocean.

Meet at 8:45 am for sign up & stretching to begin walk promptly at 9 am. Hosted by Eileen O’Connell with Sweep TBD.

Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic and prior walks of at least 2.5 miles.

Distance: 3.6 miles. No turn- back or shorter option.

Pace: moderate

Terrain: roots, rocks, hills, sand, pine needles

For your safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year round.

– Limit 1 walk per day.

– Wear your CCNW ID badge.

– Carbine tips are recommended

– Restroom and water are not available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of bio break need.

– If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

Walk may be cancelled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system generated email and also the walk will no longer be visable in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions: Located on Putnam Ave about 0.5 miles south of the Rt 28 intersection (across from 820 Putnam Ave., Cotuit).
