So many route options in the Punkhorn Parklands! Check out this one from Eagle Point to Long Pond, with views of Seymour Pond and the historic Cahoon Canal along the way. We’ll travel on wide cartways that support Nordic technique, allow us to walk side-by-side and chat, and reduce exposure to ticks.
Meet at 8:15 am to sign-in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 8:40. Hosted by Sue Moynihan with Sweep TBD. Read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
Prerequisite: Instructional clinic, prior intermediate-level walks, and ability to meet the distance and pace over uneven terrain.
Distance: 4.6 miles. No shorter or turn-back option.
Pace: 21/22-min miles. Moderate and steady, with occasional, brief stops
Terrain: Mostly gravel/sand cartways, with some hills, rocks, and roots.
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Directions: Take Stony Brook Road in Brewster to Run Hill Road. Pass the transfer station and continue on the narrow road. The trailhead is located on the left immediately after the road turns to gravel. 686 Run Hill Road is the closest street address to the parking lot.
