Fort Hill is exceptionally beautiful and showcases a variety of terrains and areas of historical interest.

Meet at 9:45 AM for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 10:00 AM. Hosted by Brenda Brown with Sweep TBD.

*Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic

*Distance: 1.75 miles.  No turn-back or shorter option.

*Pace: Moderate, with some stops for water and views along the way.

*Terrain: hard packed dirt/grass trails, some roots, elongated stairs, a boardwalk and a few inclines.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Historic highlights include a restored whaling Captain’s house, Red Maple Swamp Boardwalk, and panoramic views across the marshes to the ocean.

—Wear your CCNW ID badge.—Bring rubber tips.

—Restrooms and water are not available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

—This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions: 200 Hemenway Rd., off Rt. 6 in Eastham. DO NOT follow road signs or GPS to Fort Hill.
