For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

—Prerequisite: Completed Instructional clinic. Ability to walk 3 miles at moderate pace, over varied terrain including woods, sand, firm and soft. 2 lower sand dunes.
—Distance: 3.4-3.6 miles. Tide dependent. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Moderate approx 20-25 minute miles. Rest stops at approx
.75mile intervals and as needed.
—Terrain: Woods, some cobble stone Sand, firm and soft. Note: We will be crossing over 2 lower sand dunes, then walking behind the sand dunes on hard packed sand/dirt with some soft sand as well. Poison Ivy may be present.
Let’s take in the beauty of Cape Cod Bay from Brewster at low tide. We will walk from Spruce Hill to Crosby Lane Beach, then tuck behind the dunes and walk a mostly hard packed trail along Namskaket Marsh. This trail has some soft sand towards the end, about 1/4 mile as it reaches Namskaket Creek. Namskaket Creek separates Brewster from Orleans.
—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 RSVPs per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 RSVPs for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.

Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (and spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrant will recieve a system generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
Directions: Address is 3171 Main Street (Route 6A) in Brewster. Driving east from Dennis, Spruce Hill Conservation Area is on the left of Route 6A Brewster, right after, on the same side as CAPE COD SEA CAMPS whose address is 3057 Main Street. Driving west on 6A, from Orleans, Cobies restuarant (will be on the left), Spruce Hill will be on the right.
The driveway to Spruce Hill Conservation Area is NOT marked. Parking and the trailhead for the area is at the top of the driveway at the vacant white house pictured below. Please give yourself a little extra time if you havent traveled here before. Please park tight.The lot is small.
