🌊 Nordic Walk at Craigville Beach & Long Beach Road 🥾🌾

Join us for a refreshing Nordic walk along the iconic Craigville Beach, one of Cape Cod’s most beloved stretches of sand! This walk takes us along Long Beach Road, a scenic route that runs between Nantucket Sound and the protected tidal waters of Centerville River.

Meet at 4:45pm for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 5:00pm. Hosted by Carla Fogaren with Sweep TBD. Navigator assist by Ann Mello.

—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic and physical ability to walk the terrain and distance

—Distance: 3.2 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.

—Pace: Moderate

—Terrain: Flat paved road, path is sandy but not difficult to walk on and firm beach sand as it is low tide with slight angle in some spots.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

🌅 What to Expect
We’ll start at the Craigville Beach parking area and follow Long Beach Road, enjoying the salty breeze, seabirds overhead, and panoramic water views on both sides. The road is flat and paved—perfect for all skill levels and a great place to fine-tune your Nordic walking technique.

• A chance to dip your toes in the water post-walk!

—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 bookings per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 bookings for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.

—Wear your CCNW ID badge.

— Recommend sunglasses as well as rubber tips for paved section.

—Restrooms available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

Fees are collected until 4:30pm.  Feel free to bring chair and something to eat if you want to hang out a little longer.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

• From Barnstable/Hyannis center (~5–7 min, ~3 mi):

  1. Head east on Main St toward Iyannough Rd/Route 132.

  2. Turn right onto Iyannough Rd/Route 132 S.

  3. Take the exit onto Route 28 E toward Hyannis/Centerville.

  4. After about 1 mile, turn right onto Craigville Beach Rd.
