Join us for a late afternoon walk in this restored 66 acre preserve in Harwich. We will walk the trail along the perimeter of the preserve including 2 additional loops into the woods.   We will then cross 3 wooden bridges and circle around 4 ponds. We will experience wonderful views of Cold Brook flowing freely and appreciate the amazing wildlife.

Meet at 3:45 PM for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 4:00 PM. Hosted by Rosemary DeVito with sweep TBD.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic, plus the ability to walk on uneven terrain for the prescribed distance and pace

Distance: 3.8 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.

Pace: Moderate, 18/20-min miles. Brief water stops

Terrain: A combination of wide paths with some mulched areas, some hard pack roads, short section of paved trail, some roots. Rubber tips are required.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

• Limit 1 walk per day to give others the chance to walk.
• Wear your CCNW ID badge.
• Carry bug spray.
• No water or restrooms are available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag for a bio break.
• If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time. This will allow other walkers to sign-up.

Walk may be cancelled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. *Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk.*  If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

From Rt. 39: take Bank Street 0.5 miles south to the restored firehouse and Preserve parking area on the left at #203 Bank Street.

From Rt. 28: take Bank Street 0.7 miles north to the restored firehouse and Preserve parking area on the right at #203 Bank Street.
