
Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands in Harwich offer a breathtaking escape into nature, with scenic trails along the Herring River, panoramic salt marsh views, and opportunities to spot swans, ospreys, and even bald eagles.
Meet at 8:30 am for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 8:45 am.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic and physical ability to do the pace, length and varied terrain described.
Distance: 4.5 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
Pace: Slower on hills- moderate on flat areas
Terrain: A combination of well-worn paths (with roots, rocks, hills), some steep inclines and declines, some hard pack roads, and asphalt.
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Take precautions against the sun, such as sunscreen and a hat. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Whether you’re in it for the fresh air, the feathered friends, or the chance to spot something magical, this walk promises something for the soul. Bring your camera, your curiosity, and your sense of wonder. And if the moment is just right… a rare glimpse of the legendary Goddess of Bell’s Neck!
-Limit 1 walk per day and 3 bookings per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 bookings for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.

-Restrooms and water are not available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag for a bio break.
-If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.
Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
Directions: From Great Western Road, take Bell’s Neck Road (dirt road) south. Drive 0.25 miles and on the left will be a small trailhead kiosk and parking area. Parking is allowed along the sides of the road as well. Meet me at the East Trailhead Parking Area next to the trail kiosk (There is a new parking lot that you will see on the left as you drive down Bell’s Neck Road, for those of you who have been here before).PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN LOT OFF DEPOT STREET.
