Finally, no snow or ice or fallen trees covering the trails. Who’s up for an invigorating walk at one of our favorite sites… Nauset’s Salt Marsh out to Coast Guard Beach.
Meet at 9:45 AM for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 10:00 AM. Hosted by Ellie Devlin with Sweep TBD.
Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic & at least 2 CCNW events of 4.5 miles on varied terrain
Distance: 4.8 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
Pace: Moderate-fast with minimal breaks
Terrain: Wooded trails with moderate grade and some exposed roots, log stairs, boardwalks, and soft sand
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.
- Limit 1 walk per day.
- Wear your CCNW ID badge.
- Restrooms and water are available at the visitor’s center. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
- If your plans change kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk to give others start time if your plans change. This allows the Host to plan and accommodate other walkers.
- Carbide tips suggested; rubber tips necessary for pavement & wooden bridges.
Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (including spam) and this walk listing before driving to the walk.** If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.
