CCNW 3rd Anniversary Party, Sandy Neck Beach, Barnstable (Not a Potluck)

When

June 18, 2025
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Event Type

Come one, come all! Beach party & bonfire to celebrate CCNW’s 3rd anniversary!

🎉🎉 In 2022, Carla Fogaren posted a FB invitation to Nordic walk with her at Kent’s Point in Orleans. Her goal was to find five new friends who wanted to walk. First-time walkers used snow stake “poles” Carla had outfitted with yarn straps, and afterwards, enjoyed delicious tea.

Three years later, this modest goal has grown into an amazing community with nearly 1,000 registered members to our new website platform, 10 certified Nordic walking instructors, 31 walk hosts, and over 40 safety sweeps. In the past year we’ve hosted over 700 walks and 50 instructional clinics!

Join us at an informal beach party and bonfire at Sandy Neck Beach Park in Barnstable on June 18 to celebrate our 3rd anniversary! No RSVP or booking needed.

Bring:

✅ Good cheer (most important!)

✅ Your own food and non-alcoholic beverage. This is not a potluck.

✅ Beach chair & bug spray

✅ Wear your CCNW ID badge

‼️ Alcohol consumption is illegal at this location, and glass containers are prohibited. Please do not bring either to the event. Thank you.

Arrive and leave as you wish between 6 and 9 pm. We’ll light the fire around 7, perhaps encourage some music and singing, and enjoy sunset at 8:15. We’re looking for a few people to bring firewood. Please comment below if you plan to bring wood.

Since this is not a walk, we welcome new members who have not yet attended a clinic. Come meet our wonderful community!  Plus-ones (adult family or friends) are welcome!

Weather cancellation decision will be made by 3 pm. Check email (including spam) before driving to the event. Rain date is June 19.

This event is authorized under a permit from the Town of Barnstable.

Directions: Meet at Sandy Neck Beach Park, 425 Sandy Neck Road, Barnstable.

When you arrive at Sandy Neck: At the top of the parking lot, take a right turn past the snack shack and park in that lot. Take the last entrance (all on the left) to walk onto the beach.
