🌿 Ready to Explore? Join Us for a Beginner Nordic Walk on the Coonamessett Greenway and discover the beauty of more than five hundred acres of protected open space.

Beginner Level Coonamessett Greenway, East Falmouth, different mileage options ½ mile to 3 miles

Meet at 8:15 am [15 minutes prior to walk time] for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 8:30am. Hosted by Carla Fogaren with Sweep TBD.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic and physical ability to do the pace, length and varied terrain described.

Distance: ½ mile to 3 miles Turn-back or shorter options of various distances available and will return you right to your car.

Pace: Slow to moderate on flat areas

Terrain: A combination of well-worn paths, hard packed flat dirt paths with a few sandy spots and two wood boardwalks.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

What to Expect: 🚶‍♀️

• A gentle up to 3-mile trail with shorter loop options
  • Stunning views of wetlands, forests, and meadows
  • A nearly 1-mile wheelchair-accessible section + 2 boardwalks
  • Chance to spot otters, ospreys & migrating fish in crystal-clear waters

—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 bookings per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 bookings for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.

—Porta Potty is available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

 Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
