The season of giving is upon us. Many of our neighbors may be facing a tough time. To spread some kindness, you are welcome to bring non-perishables to walks, that I will deliver to your local food pantry. This is a small gesture that will mean so much to those in need.

Fort Hill is a great first walk after Instructional Clinic and beginner level walkers. This area is exceptional in beauty as well as different terrains in an under 2 mile walk.

Meet at 10:15 for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 10:30am. Hosted by Nancy Strianese with Sweep TBD.

*Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic
*Distance: 1.75 miles.  No turn-back or shorter option.
*Pace: Slow to moderate with rest, water and vista drops along the way. *Terrain: hard packed dirt/grass trails, some roots, elongated stairs, a boardwalk and a few hilly inclines.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Historic highlights include a restored whaling Captain’s house, Red Maple Swamp Boardwalk, and panoramic views across the marshes to the ocean.

—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 bookings per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 bookings for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.

—Wear your CCNW ID badge.

–Wear blaze orange for visibility and safety during hunting season.
—Bring rubber tips.
—Restrooms are available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

—This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions: 200 Hemenway Rd., off Rt. 6 in Eastham. DO NOT follow road signs or GPS to Fort Hill.
Park in lot at end of Henmenway Rd. as town permit not required off season.
