For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Take precautions against the sun, such as sunscreen and a hat. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. 

Meet at 6:15 for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 6:30. Hosted by Sue Moynihan with Sweep TBD.

Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic, ability to walk 2-2.5 miles at a moderate, steady pace. Must feel comfortable in low light/darkness at walk’s end.
Distance: 2 miles. No shorter or turn-back option.
Pace: Moderate on the level, slower on the hills. A little faster than previous walks here, and longer intervals between stops.
Terrain: Pavement, gravel road, and optional beach segment with soft sand.

We’ll visit four historic lighthouses that warned countless ships from the treacherous Nauset shores, then head to a high elevation overlook to see firsthand the effects of wind and waves at this erosion hotspot. Low light at walk’s end. Bring a headlamp or flashlight. 

—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 bookings per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 bookings for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.
—Wear your CCNW ID badge.
—Rubber tips required.
—Bring flashlight or headlamp.

—Walk will be canceled if fewer than 4 registered walkers.

—No restrooms or water. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check this event for last-minute notifications before heading out.

Directions: 780 Ocean View Drive, Eastham. Meet on the ocean side of the parking lot, diagonally opposite from the bathhouse (closed for the season). Note: This is Nauset LIGHT Beach, Eastham, NOT Nauset Beach, Orleans.
