Calling all sweet holiday movie fans! Hawksnest’s quiet woods and tranquil ponds set the scene for a CCNW Hallmark movie plot! We’ll build our storyline as we walk, with the predictable Hallmark “formula” as our guide. Who’s our main character, and what’s brought them back to Hawksnest? Who from their small town past do they connect with, and what does their future hold? In true Hallmark fashion, we’ll put a bow on it and enjoy a cocoa and candy cane ending! Please bring a small mug or cup.

If you’ve never watched a Hallmark movie, try to catch one before the walk for familiarity with the plot formula.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. Wear blaze orange for visibility and safety during hunting season.

Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (including spam) AND this walk listing before driving to the walk.** If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Meeting Point: Intersection of Spruce and Seth Whitefield Roads, off Exit 85, Harwich.

Rt. 6 to Exit 85 in Harwich. Turn left onto Rt. 137. Turn right onto Spruce Rd. just past the traffic signal. Take Spruce Road for 1/2 mile. Look for dirt road on the left (Seth Whitefield) and park on Spruce at the intersection with Seth Whitefield. Do not follow Waze, as this may bring you in the back way on sandy, pothole-riddled roads.

Our meeting point at the intersection of Spruce (paved) and Seth Whitefield (unpaved) roads off Exit 85 in Harwich.

  1. Monday’s windchill may be lower than our Club protocol for walking allows (we cancel if windchill is 19 degrees or lower at walk location and time). I will continue to watch and will make the go/no-go decision by 8 am on Monday. If we cancel, I will try to repost for another date and you can sign up.
