Enjoy an invigorating, moderate/fast-paced walk along 2 bike trails and paved Coast Guard Rd to Highland Light, the 1st light seen on a voyage from Europe to Boston.

Meet at 9:15 for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 9:30. Hosted by Ellie Devlin with Sweep TBD.

—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic, prior CCNWC events of 4+ miles and an ability to walk 7 miles.

—Distance: ~7 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.

—Pace: moderate in the wooded areas, moderate/fast steady pace on the bike trails

—Terrain: ~1.4 miles on wooded trails with elevation gain, roots and steps, ~5.2 miles on asphalt/pavement & packed sand & cinder

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Enjoy panoramic views of the salt marsh, Provincetown dunes, and Head of the Meadow  Beach before setting out on the bike trails to Highland Light, the 1st Cape Cod lighthouse. Walk around the bluff and the historic area that includes a links golf course. [We won’t go into the lighthouse.]

—Limit 1 walk per day.

—Wear your CCNW ID badge.

—Rubber tips, water (optional: a snack & extra water), and comfortable shoes/sneakers.

—Restrooms available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions: Pilgrim Heights: Take Route 6 to North Truro to the Pilgrim Heights exit that is one mile past Head of the Meadow Rd. Meet at the wooden shelter in the Pilgrim Heights Picnic area.
