Walk on wooded paths with modest hills through several Bourne Conservation Trust properties. Usual trip/fall hazards such as roots and uneven terrain. Go past the railroad tracks to a historic train depot and finish with a scenic water view of Red Brook Harbor.
Meet at 9:15 for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 9:30. Hosted by Jackie Ferguson with sweep TBD. Please read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
- Prerequisite: Instructional clinic + ability to walk 3+ mi with hills
- Distance: 4 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
- Pace: This walk is a moderate paced walk, we will rest at regular intervals and the tops of the hills!
- Terrain: Wide trails, but with some loose rocks and some inclines
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

- Porta potty available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
- If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.
Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
Directions:
From Cape side, Bourne Bridge, take Rte 28S for 4.0 miles. Take 1st exit off rotary for Cataumet. Quick left at blinker on 28A, go .8 miles. Right on Scraggy Neck Rd Ext by Somerset Ice Cream for .2 mile. Left then quick right to continue on Scraggy Neck Road, under railroad bridge for .6 miles total. Right onto Red Brook Harbor Rd for .4 mile to parking on left at Dimick Waterfront Scenic Vista. From Route 151 and 28A, go 1 mile and fork left onto County Rd at flashing light. Go .2 mile and go left at Scraggy Neck Road. Go .6 miles, passing under railroad bridge. Right onto Red Brook Harbor Rd for .4 mile to parking on left at Dimick Waterfront Scenic Vista.
