Spruce Hill is a beautiful wooded trail that leads to the Brewster flats. We’ll walk the flats to Namskaket Creek. Namskaket Creek separates Brewster from Orleans.

Meet at 12:45PM to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 1:00PM. Hosted by Leslie Kalinowski with Sweep Mike Kalinowski. Please read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
—Prerequisite: Completed Instructional clinic. Ability to walk 3+ miles at moderate pace, over varied terrain including woods, sand, (firm and soft.) 2 lower sand dunes.
—Distance: 3.4-3.5 miles. Tide dependent. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Moderate approx 20-25 minute miles.
—Terrain: Woods some exposed roots, some cobble stone, sand, firm and soft. Note: We will be crossing over 2 lower sand dunes, then walking behind the sand dunes on hard packed sand/dirt and approx 1/4 mile soft sand.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (including spam) AND this walk listing before driving to the walk. ** If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions: Spruce Hill Conservation Area is 3171 Main Street (Route 6A) in Brewster.  Driving route 6A from Dennis, Spruce Hill is on the left after CAPE COD SEA CAMPS (whose address is 3057 Main Street). Driving on 6A, from Orleans, Cobies restuarant, (closed for the season will be on the left), Spruce Hill will be on the right. The Driveway to Spruce Hill Conservation Area is not marked. Parking and the trailhead for the area is at the top of the driveway of this vacant, white/green shutters,cape styled house pictured below. Please give yourself a little extra time if you havent traveled here before. Please park tight.The lot is small.
