Eagle Pond and Little River Sanctuary is located at 1/2 mile down Putnam Ave from the intersection of RTE 28 and Putnam Ave. The Sanctuary consists of varying habitats of white cedar swamps, meadows, mature pinewood forests, and a kettle pond.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic, prior beginner walks, and ability to walk at a steady pace for 3 miles over varied terrain

Distance: ~3.1 miles.

Pace: Moderate and steady (20-25 minute mile pace)

Terrain: Pressed dirt with some pine needles, some small inclines

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be
allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

Description: Our 3.1-mile route at Eagle Pond and Cordwood Road Sanctuary follows wide paths through the woods. We will take a short detour to a Bay view and loop around the pond.

—No restroom or water. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.

—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

—Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check this event for last-minute notifications before heading out.
