Scenic river vistas, serene wooded trails, active birdwatching, well maintained trails. The trail features a “box seat” view high above the Monomoy River (Muddy Creek). From the overlook, you can see across to Jacknife Beach and Pleasant Bay. The land preserves the history of the Monomoyick tribe, who inhabited these estuaries for thousands of years.
Meet at 12:45 to sign in and stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 1PM.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic, ability to walk 2 miles
Distance: 2 miles no shorter or turn-back option
Pace: Slow to moderate with water stops.
Terrain: Packed sand, some roots and rocks, pine needles, short bursts of small inclines.

In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round.

- Mixed sun and shade. Wear sunglasses and if it is cold with high winds – a neck gaiter, and ear coverings are helpful.
- No restrooms or water.
- If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.
- Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather—ice, windchill of 19 degrees or lower, steady snow or rain—or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made 2 hours in advance. Always check your email (including spam) AND this event listing before heading out. If a walk is canceled, you will receive a system-generated email and the walk will no longer be visible on the website.

- From Rt. 39, take Bay Road one mile east to parking area on the right, opposite Blue Heron Landing.
- From Rt. 28, take Bay Rd. 0.3 mile west to the parking area on left.
