The beautiful Nauset Marsh and Doane trails feature a little bit of everything that the Seashore has to offer: a scenic pond, expansive marsh, hilly, wooded trails with lovely views, historical markers, and that gorgeous beach. Join us for a great workout in this perfect spot!
Meet at 9:15 AM for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 9:30 AM. Hosted by Dorrie Scipione Ross with Sweep TBD. Please read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.
—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic and at least 2 walks of 4.5 miles on varied terrain
—Distance: 4.5 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.
—Pace: Moderate and steady with a few stops
—Terrain: log stairs, hard pack trail with roots, rocks and pinecones, some hills, possible mud in spots, pavement, bridge crossing, soft sand leading down to the beach
For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. Wear blaze orange for visibility and safety during hunting season.
—Limit 1 walk per day.
—Wear your CCNW ID badge.
—Carbide tips suggested; rubber tips useful for pavement and bridge portions.
—Restrooms and water are available at the visitor’s center. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
—If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.
This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special Use Permit.
Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (including spam) AND this walk listing before driving to the walk.** If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
