Our 4 mile route at West Barnstable Conservation Area power lines provides a workout with natural intervals of elevation (up and down hills) on wide paths along the power lines.

Meet at 4:00 pm for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 4:15 pm. Hosted by Debbie Zinck with Sweep TBD.

• Prerequisite: Instructional clinic and ability to walk for 3+ miles over hilly terrain at a moderate, consistent pace
• Distance: 4 miles (2 miles down then back)
• Pace: moderate (20-25 minute miles)
• Terrain: pressed dirt with  loose assorted size rocks, up and down hills.

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. ***Wear blaze orange for visibility and safety during hunting season.***

• Limit 1 walk per day.
• Wear your CCNW ID badge.
• Either rubber tips/feet or carbide tips are fine.
• No water available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag for a bio break.

If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

Walk may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) and this event before driving to the walk. If a walk is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.

Directions: There is a parking lot on the left under the power lines on Service Rd (500 feet from the roundabout on Route 149), however, there are potholes at the entrance so please enter slowly. Additional parking is opposite this lot on the right. Both lots are small, so please park efficiently.
