For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Take precautions against the sun, such as sunscreen and a hat. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. Wear blaze orange for visibility during hunting season.

Meet at 8:45 AM for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 9:00 AM.

—Prerequisite: Instructional clinic, plus the ability to walk on uneven terrain for the prescribed distance and pace

—Distance: 3.0 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.

—Pace: Moderate

—Terrain: A combination of wide paths with some mulched areas, some hard pack roads, short section of paved trail, some roots. Sturdy footwear recommended.

—Rubber tips are necessary.

Join us for a walk in this newly restored 66 acre preserve in Harwich.  We will cross 3 wooden bridges and circle around 4 ponds. We will then walk the trail along the perimeter of the preserve including 2 additional loops into the woods.  We will experience wonderful views of Cold Brook flowing freely and appreciate the amazing wildlife.

—Limit 1 walk per day and 3 bookings per week (Sunday to Saturday) to give others the chance to walk. If you are already holding 3 bookings for the week of this walk, please do not sign up.

—Wear your CCNW ID badge.

—No water or restrooms are available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag for a bio break.

— If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

Walk may be cancelled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check this event for last-minute notifications before heading out.

From Rt. 39: take Bank Street 0.5 miles south to the restored firehouse and Preserve parking area on the left at #203 Bank Street.

From Rt. 28: take Bank Street 0.7 miles north to the restored firehouse and Preserve parking area on the right at #203 Bank Street.
