Welcome to Cape Cod Nordic Walking. Before you sign up for one of our numerous, varied and amazing walking events, you are required to participate in an instructional clinic
Nordic walking will not only turn your walks into full-body workouts, but it will enhance your quality of life in multiple other ways, which will be covered in class.
Topics covered in the session:
*Pole anatomy/adjustment/pole etiquette
*Health benefits
*Steps leading up to the Nordic walking technique that engages up to 90% of your muscles.
*Discussion on how to use the new Cape Cod Nordic Walking Club’s new website to sign up for events and how to choose a walk for you.
There will be an opportunity to practice at each level of progression and then we will take a short walk nearby.
** Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and get your official CCNW ID badge and lanyard which will be your passport to walks.
**The badges are $5 (each/only exact cash please ) which helps defray the costs associated with maintaining this club run entirely by trained volunteers. The membership, instruction and walks are all free of charge. For anyone who is unable to pay $5, we will waive the fee for your badge.
** Bringing your own water is required.
** Dress appropriately for the weather that day and wear comfortable walking shoes.
** There will be a limited number of Nordic walking style poles available to borrow. Please comment on this event if you will be borrowing for this class.
** Clinic may be canceled, changed, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the clinic. If the clinic is canceled, registrants will receive a system-generated email, and the clinic will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
