On this low tide walk along Pleasant Bay, the journey is the destination! We’ll slow down, enjoy long views of the Bay and islands, notice what washed up on the previous high tide, and keep an eye out for spawning horseshoe crabs. Then, we’ll pause briefly to sketch or write about a found object or the view, or sit quietly with nature—your choice, personal, and for you only. Supplies provided. To stay dry, please bring a plastic bag to sit on. 

Meet at 12 noon to sign in and stretch.  We’ll begin walking promptly at 12:15. Hosted by Sue Moynihan with Sweep TBD. Read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.

Prerequisite: Instructional clinic
Distance: 2 miles
Pace: Slow and meandering
Terrain: Hard-packed sand at low tide and some cobbles to navigate around. No hills. 

For Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety, if you arrive without water, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks, which are active year-round. 

• Limit 1 walk per day
• Wear your CCNW ID badge.
• Exposed location, consider the need for sunscreen and a hat
• We’ll be at the tide line and shoes will likely get wet. Sturdy water sandals are ok for this walk, but no flip flops! 
• Carry bug spray
• No restrooms or water. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.
• If your plans change, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.

Directions: Route 28 to Jackknife Cove, on the Harwich/Chatham line.
—From Chatham Center, sharp right off Rt 28 and down the hill to parking.
—From Orleans, sharp left off Rt 28 and down the hill to parking.
