DESCRIPTION:Do you love hiking in the woods? Join us at Marconi Beach\, whe
 re our walk through the Marconi Wildlife Management Area will include a vi
 sit to Fresh Brook\, home to a small village in the 1800s that later serve
 d as a military base during WWII. Our walk ends with a visit to the Marcon
 i Beach bluff for a spectacular ocean view.\nMeet at 8:45 AM to sign in an
 d stretch. We’ll begin walking promptly at 9:00 AM. Hosted by Dorrie Sci
 pione Ross with Sweep TBD. Please read to the bottom for directions to our
  meeting point.\n—Prerequisite:Instructional clinic and ability to walk 
 for 4 miles at a moderate/steady pace over varied terrain with only a few 
 brief stops\n—Distance: 4 miles. No turn-back or shorter option.\n—Pac
 e: Moderate and steady\, with only occasional stops.\n—Terrain: Hard pac
 k trail (single track and wider paths)\, fire road\, many roots and pineco
 nes\, some hills and inclines. The area has been cleared from the storm\, 
 but there is a good bit of tree detritus on the paths in some areas.\n\n\n
 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor Your Safety: Consider the weather foreca
 st when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In considerati
 on of personal and group safety\, if you arrive without water\, you will n
 ot be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the
  elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent
  to protect yourself from ticks\, which are active year-round. Wear blaze 
 orange for safety as it is turkey hunting season.\n\n—Limit 1 walk per d
 ay.\n—Wear your CCNW ID badge.\n— Carbide tips and hiking boots sugges
 ted.\n—Restrooms and water are not available. Bring tissue in a plastic 
 bag in case of a bio break need.\n—If your plans change\, kindly cancel 
 your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walk
 ers may join.\n\nThis walk is authorized under a National Park Service Spe
 cial Use Permit.\n\nWalk may be canceled\, changed\, or rescheduled for we
 ather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hour
 s in advance. **Check your email (including spam) AND this walk listing be
 fore driving to the walk. ** If a walk is canceled\, registrants will rec
 eive a system-generated email\, and the walk will no longer be visible in 
 the event listing or on the calendar.\nDirections: Meet near the bath hous
