SUMMARY:INTERMEDIATE\, Bells Neck\, Harwich\, 3.5 miles\, (Friday)
DESCRIPTION:This late afternoon walk will take us through a quiet neighborh
 ood along the Herring River\, past lots of trees and an old cemetery and t
 hen brings us by the fish ladder and around West Reservoir with many water
  views.\n\nMeet at 2:45 p.m. to sign in and stretch.  We’ll begin walki
 ng promptly at 3:00 p.m. Hosted by Rosemary DeVito with TBD Sweep.  Pleas
 e read to the bottom for directions to our meeting point.\n\n—Prerequisi
 te: Instructional Clinic\; plus the ability to walk on uneven terrain for 
 the prescribed distance and pace\n—Distance: 3.5 miles. No turn-back or 
 shorter option.\n—Pace: Moderate\n—Terrain: A combination of well-worn
  paths (with roots\, rocks\, hills)\, and asphalt roads.  Rubber tips rec
 ommended.\n\nFor Your Safety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a
  walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal an
 d group safety\, if you arrive without water\, you will not be allowed to 
 walk. Dress for the weather and protect yourself from the elements. Choose
  appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yours
 elf from ticks\, which are active year-round. Wear blaze orange for visibi
 lity and safety during hunting season (starting October 6).\n\n—Limit 1 
 walk per day.\n—Wear your CCNW ID badge.\n—Restrooms and water are not
  available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.\n
 —If your plans change\, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in 
 advance of walk start time so other walkers may join.\n\nWalk may be cance
 led\, changed\, or rescheduled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation 
 decision will be made at least 2 hours in advance. **Check your email (inc
 luding spam) AND this walk listing before driving to the walk. ** If a wa
 lk is canceled\, registrants will receive a system-generated email\, and t
 he walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calendar.
 \n\nDirections/Location:  Meet at the East Trailhead Parking Area next to
  the trail kiosk.\n\nFrom Great Western Road\, take Bell’s Neck Road (di
 rt) south.\n\nDrive 0.20 mile and on the left will be a small trailhead ki
 osk and parking area.
