 mi.  Friday
DESCRIPTION:Fort Hill is a great first walk after Instructional Clinic and 
 beginner level walkers. This area is exceptional in beauty as well as diff
 erent terrains in an under 2 mile walk.\n\nMeet at 9:15 for sign-in and st
 retching to begin walking promptly at 9:30 AM Hosted by Patty Creedon\n\n*
 Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic\n\n*Distance: 1.75 miles.  No turn-bac
 k or shorter option.\n\n*Pace: Slow\,  with rest\, water and vista viewin
 g  along the way.\n\n*Terrain: hard packed dirt/grass trails\, some roots
 \, elongated stairs\, a boardwalk and a few hilly inclines.\n\nFor Your Sa
 fety: Consider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CAR
 RIED ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety\, if you 
 arrive without water\, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weat
 her and protect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear fo
 r trail conditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks\, which a
 re active year-round.\n\nHistoric highlights include a restored whaling Ca
 ptain’s house\, Red Maple Swamp Boardwalk\, and panoramic views across t
 he marshes to the ocean.\n\n—Limit 1 walk per day.\n\n—Wear your CCNW 
 ID badge.—Bring rubber tips which are required for the boardwalk\n\n—R
 estrooms and water are not available. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in cas
 e of a bio break need.\n\n—If your plans change\, kindly cancel your boo
 king at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other walkers may 
 join.\n\n—This walk is authorized under a National Park Service Special 
 Use Permit.\n\nWalk may be canceled\, changed\, or rescheduled for weather
  or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hours in 
 advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the walk. If 
 a walk is canceled\, registrants will receive a system-generated email and
  the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on the calenda
 r.\n\nDirections: 200 Hemenway Rd.\, off Rt. 6 in Eastham. DO NOT follow r
 oad signs or GPS to Fort Hill.\nPark in lot at end of Henmenway Rd. as tow
 n permit not required off season.
