DESCRIPTION:\n 	 **Discover the Joy of Nordic Walking!** \n\nFlat terrain
  on All Persons trail with wide paths.\n\nMeet at 8:45 am (15 minutes prio
 r to walk time] for sign-in and stretching to begin walking promptly at 9:
 00 am. Hosted by Patty Creedon\n\n—Prerequisite: Instructional Clinic\n\
 n—Distance: .5 or 1.5 mile Your choice. Turn back or shorter option avai
 lable - read below.\n\n—Pace: Slow\n\n—Terrain: All persons trail. Wid
 e\, level\, smooth compacted sand or gavel. Comfortable under foot\, not l
 ike pavement.  Slight incline at beginning / end.\n\nFor Your Safety: Con
 sider the weather forecast when booking a walk. WATER MUST BE CARRIED ON A
 LL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety\, if you arrive wi
 thout water\, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather and p
 rotect yourself from the elements. Choose appropriate footwear for trail c
 onditions. Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks\, which are active
  year-round.\n\nFeeling uncertain about starting or restarting your Nordic
  walking journey? You’re not alone! Many feel that it might be too far o
 r too difficult\, especially if stamina is a concern. But here’s the goo
 d news: these wide trails are designed with you in mind! With NO inclines 
 and some shaded spots\, plenty of stops\, several benches if needed. We wi
 ll do a 0.5 mile loop incorporating the first two of four bridges and grea
 t views of the ponds\, returning to close to the parking lot. For those wi
 lling and able to continue\, we will turn back and go to the third bridge 
 and back for a 1.5 mile total walk.  Note this second optional leg is lon
 ger than we have been doing on these gentle walks up to now.  However\, t
 here is no pressure to do the second loop. Great opportunity for anyone re
 covering from an injury or long lay-off from walking to get back in the sw
 ing.\n\nWe go at a very relaxed pace\, taking frequent breaks to catch our
  breath and enjoy the scenery.  So\, what are you waiting for? Step outs
 ide\, connect with nature\, and take the first step towards better health 
 with us. You’ve got this! \n\n—Limit 1 walk per day.\n\n—Wear your 
 CCNW ID badge.\n\n—Rubber tips for crossing bridges\, or carry poles acr
 oss.\n\n—Restrooms and water are not available. Bring tissue in a plasti
 c bag in case of a bio break need.\n\n—If your plans change\, kindly can
 cel your booking at least 24 hours in advance of walk start time so other 
 walkers may join.\n\nWalk may be canceled\, changed\, or rescheduled for w
 eather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at least 2 hou
 rs in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving to the wal
 k. If a walk is canceled\, registrants will receive a system-generated ema
 il and also the walk will no longer be visible in the event listing or on 
 the calendar.\n\nDirections: 204 Bank St. Harwich at the beautiful newly r
 efurbished Fire House Museum. Free parking. Meet at trail head in the rear
  lot.
