DESCRIPTION:\n 	\n\n\n 	Advanced Walk - Nickerson State Park - Five Ponds (
 Big and Little Cliff\, Flax\, Higgins and Eel Ponds)  and hill climb to s
 ee the old\, wooden water tower - 7.5 miles\n\nFor Your Safety: Consider t
 he weather forecast when making your RSVP decision. WATER MUST BE CARRIED 
 ON ALL WALKS! In consideration of personal and group safety\, if you arriv
 e without water\, you will not be allowed to walk. Dress for the weather a
 nd protect yourself from the elements.  Choose appropriate footwear for t
 rail conditions.  Use repellent to protect yourself from ticks\, which ar
 e active year-round.  Wear blaze orange during hunting season (except for
  Sundays).\n\nMeet at 9:45 a.m. for sign-in and stretching to begin walkin
 g promptly at 10:00 p.m. Hosted by Barbie Liftman with Sweep TBD.\n—Prer
 equisite: Instructional Clinic\, prior CCNW walk of 5+ miles and ability t
 o walk at a moderate\, sustained pace with few breaks.\n—Distance: 7.5 m
 iles. No turn-back or shorter option.\n—Pace: Moderate pace with few bre
 aks.\n—Terrain: All wooded trails\, lots of roots and rocks.  Modest el
 evation gains with one steep hill.  Carbide tips only.  Sturdy hiking sh
 oes or boots recommended.  This 7.5 mile walk around five ponds is entire
 ly wooded and affords spectacular pond views and photo ops.\n\n—Limit 1 
 walk per day.\n—Wear your CCNW ID badge.\n—Restrooms and water not ava
 ilable. Bring tissue in a plastic bag in case of a bio break need.\n—If 
 your plans change\, kindly cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advanc
 e of walk start time so other walkers may join.\n\nMass DCR parking pass o
 r paid parking not required.\n\nWalk may be canceled\, changed\, or resche
 duled for weather or other reasons. Cancellation decision will be made at 
 least 2 hours in advance. Check your email (including spam) before driving
  to the walk.  If a walk is canceled\, registrants will receive a system-
 generated email\, and the walk will no longer be visible in the event list
 ing or on the calendar.\n\nDirections: Enter Nickerson State Park at main 
 gate.   Take the FIRST major left towards Flax Pond.  Do not park at Fl
 ax Pond but follow road to the end and park at the Cliff Ponds lot.
